The program focuses on the special educational support needs of children and adolescents whose acquisition of language and communication skills is so severely impaired that general pedagogical support is insufficient. Impairments may be specific to language acquisition or arise from intellectual or socio-cultural conditions. The curriculum provides fundamental insights into language acquisition, possible causes of impairments, language diagnostic procedures, and evidence-based language therapy and support concepts. Students learn to adapt these concepts to different subject didactics and inclusive/exclusive educational settings. The program emphasizes empathy, teamwork, openness to diversity, and the development of individual learning and solution strategies for people with support needs.
