1/15/2026Fundamentals During the first semesters, students cover fundamental mathematics and economics subjects such as: Linear algebra Business administration Macroeconomics Information systems Basic legal knowledge. These subjects form a broad knowledge base for a subsequent specialisation. Economic specialisation Building on your knowledge base, you can choose from a broad range of economic specialisation options, as well as from newly created specialisation options in the interdisciplinary field of Technology-Oriented Management. Economic specialisation options: Decision Support Information Management Services Management Marketing Organisation and Leadership Finance Corporate Accounting Production and Logistics Law Economics. If you opt for the interdisciplinary field, you may specialise in Data-Driven Enterprise, Entrepreneurship or Business Ethics. Economic methodology The process of discovering, assessing and designing business models is no longer based on gut feeling alone. Instead, companies today employ a broad spectrum of qualitative and quantitative methods. For the Methodology module, you may choose from a variety of electives that focus for example on qualitative exploration or quantitative testing. These Methodology electives will provide a complement to your specialisation in economics and help prepare you for your theoretical and practical projects and your Bachelor’s thesis. Engineering Focus In the Engineering Focus, you may specialise in a technological area, for example in energy, sustainability and production systems, mobility, or liveable cities of the future. For this, each of our partner faculties has developed a specific curriculum tailored to your needs. Theoretical and Practical Projects In addition to lectures and tutorials, you will apply your knowledge during theoretical seminars and hands-on Business Innovation Projects. Every semester, the various chairs offer different seminar topics and assignments in cooperation with our industry partners. Interdisciplinary Qualification To complete the Interdisciplinary Qualification module, students can choose classes from TU Braunschweig’s entire course catalogue. Any class is eligible that concludes with a final exam and that is not part of your own Bachelor’s degree programme, for example soft skills training or language classes. Internship During your Bachelor’s studies, you will complete a 10-week internship. This is a good opportunity to familiarise yourself with potential work environments and what they might expect of you. All the information about internships is available on the university’s internship web pages. Final Module: Bachelor’s thesis and presentation The Final module will complete your Bachelor’s studies. It consists of writing a Bachelor’s thesis and presenting its results (15 credit points). The Bachelor’s thesis is a chance for students to demonstrate their ability to write a scientific paper. This module also guides a student’s skills in documenting and verbally communicating their scientific findings, enabling them to apply these skills in their subsequent field of work.

General Requirement: Most of the courses offered at TU Braunschweig are taught in German. Therefore, when applying for a German-language degree programme, you must submit one of the following German language certificates by the application deadline: TestDaF with at least 4 points in each section of the test telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule DSH 2 Sprachdiplom of the Kultusministerkonferenz (Stufe II) C2-Zertifikat of the Goethe Institute Feststellungsprüfung of the Studienkolleg For non-restricted degree programmes, you only need to prove that you are attending at least a German course at level B2 at the time of application. For enrolment, you must submit one of the above-mentioned German language certificates. Unfortunately, enrolment is not possible without this language certificate!
