1/15/2026The degree programme is divided into three phases: Basic studies Advanced studies Specialisation The programme is accompanied by various programming labs, integrated lectures in computer science and a minor subject. You can choose between computer science, physics or electrical engineering. You will write your final thesis in the subject area of your chosen specialisation. Basic studies Here you will learn the basics of mathematics that are central to all higher level courses. You will also learn to work on and solve simple maths problems independently and to communicate your solutions clearly. Advanced studies In this area, you can choose lectures totalling 30 CP from a pool of courses. The selected lectures prepare you for the later specialisations and deepen your knowledge from the basic studies. Specialisation In this area, you choose a specialisation. A specialisation consists of several related lectures totalling 20 CP. In addition, the final thesis (15 CP) should be written in the subject area of the specialisation. We offer the following specialisations: Mathematics for Data Science (DSC) Mathematics for Natural Sciences (NSC) Mathematics for Information Technology and Engineering (ITE) Programming labs A number of programming labs are offered in this area, from which you choose at least 3. As a basis for this, you will attend the introductory courses "Mathematical Algorithms" and "Mathematical Programming" in the first two semesters, in which basic knowledge of the modern programming language Julia and the use of Jupiter notebooks is taught. Computer science and minor subject In this area, you will attend lectures totalling 20-30 CP in the field of computer science and take a further 10-20 CP in a minor subject of your choice.
