10/20/2025The vocational specialization of Supply Engineering can only be combined with the vocational specialization of structural engineering or machine technology at RWTH. The degree program combination of machine technology and supply engineering is a broad-based basic education in engineering sciences, mathematics, natural sciences, systems sciences, and supply technology. Building on these basics, students will then study more advanced machine technology and supply technology topics. Furthermore, they will be able to specialize in specific topics of interest in their supply technology and machine technology electives, being able to choose from, for example, fundamentals of fluid technology, water supply, energy system technology, manufacturing engineering, or technical combustion. In addition, the degree program includes in-depth training in subject didactics, such as subject-specific teaching for theory-based reflection of specialized work, the basics of curriculum development in industrial-technical vocational specializations besides developing, and designing teaching and learning arrangements. The program includes educational studies and a school orientation internship. Furthermore, students must complete a four-week internship in an occupational area. This can be recognized as a school internship. Proof of 52 weeks of a school internship must be provided for admission to the preparatory period of service prior to qualifying for the teaching profession. A detailed description of the curriculum is always available via the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering website. Combination with structural engineering ? your studies start earlier, advisory session recommended! It shall be noted that the combination with structural engineering is offered in cooperation with FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences, where all the technical courses are taught. For our students, this means their studies start slightly earlier. Prospective students should contact the faculty's departmental academic advising service early on so they are best prepared for all the special features and regulations of their studies. Study Abroad Programs The Faculty has several well-established ties with international partner universities, both in and outside Europe, facilitating collaborations in teaching and research as well as exchange programs such as ERASMUS. Check the overview of all RWTH exchange programs. The Faculty of Civil Engineering's International Office or the academic advisors provide information on the feasibility of staying abroad.
