9/15/2025Students gain insights into the healthcare system and its influence on midwifery. They expand their professional and interdisciplinary skills concerning ethical decisions and consider health and illness in multiple contextual conditions (including climate change). In terms of content, they are specifically trained in midwife-specific content (following the recommendations of the International Confederation of Midwives), which expands and deepens the support and care provided by midwives beyond the skills acquired in the primary course of study.Further training in practical training or as a family midwife is integrated as an additional qualification in the form of an elective. Courses can be held in German or English, strengthening students' use of English scientific and technical language. Studying scientific theory and research practice enables students to independently plan and work on a scientific project at the master's level. Graduates of the master's program can be employed in all areas of teaching, research, and management.
