The Master of Science in Medical Informatics at Heidelberg University is a consecutive, full-time, on-campus program conducted in German. The degree provides a comprehensive advanced education in medical informatics, utilizing a curriculum developed in cooperation with Hochschule Heilbronn since 1972. The program structure encompasses three compulsory modules and five compulsory-elective modules from which students can select two focus areas (Bioinformatics, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Systems, Data Science, Information Management, Software Development). The final semester is dedicated to the completion of a Master’s thesis. Graduates are highly qualified for innovative professional fields that require interdisciplinary knowledge in data science, life sciences, and clinical information systems.
