1/15/2026The master's program in Energy Systems is structured into a core qualification area with predominantly mathematical/physical fundamentals and a specialization option in the area of energy systems or marine engineering. In addition to operation and management and non-technical modules, there are three compulsory modules (energy systems specialization) or four compulsory modules (marine engineering specialization). In the core qualification area, in-depth physical/mathematical and current engineering content of energy technology and marine mechanical engineering is addressed. In addition, in the compulsory modules "Thermal Energy Systems" and in the "Student Research Project Energy Systems" application and research-oriented problems are dealt with and in the "Practical Course Energy Technology" different experiments are carried out in small groups and competences for critical analysis and evaluation of measurement data and experimental results are taught. In the context of the "Studienarbeit Energietechnik" and the "Praktikum Energietechnik", the independent processing of problems, the structuring of solution approaches and the written documentation are promoted.
