1/15/2026Compulsory area The compulsory area covers the modules Operations and Management and Non-Technical Supplementary Subjects. Compulsory elective area The compulsory elective area consists of four specializations: Computer and Software Engineering, Intelligence Engineering, Mathematics, and Subject-Specific Focus. Students choose three subjects of 6 LP each from the first three blocks and two subjects of 6 LP each in the last block, which can be chosen from the total range of technical subjects offered at TU. Project work The project work comprises 9 working weeks and is scheduled for the third semester with a topic from computer science. Final thesis The final thesis with a computer science topic is to be completed in the fourth semester. ? The final paper or project thesis can be written in English. Specialization Computer and Software Engineering: In this specialization, the methods and procedures of software and hardware engineering developed in the bachelor's degree are further developed. This direction is especially important for the design of general IT systems. Specialization Intelligence engineering: This specialization deals with methods and procedures that are central to the problem of the century of digitalization, among other things. This includes in particular the topics Big-Data-Big and Machine Learning. Specialization Mathematics: In this specialization , advanced mathematical knowledge and procedures are taught, which are intended to mathematically support the competencies acquired in computer science. Specialization Subject-specific focussing: In this area, students choose two technical subjects from the entire range offered by the TU. One of the two subjects can be a module consisting of two main seminars. This allows additional specialization of the studies in interesting areas of computer science, or profiling in engineering sciences such as medical technology or avionics.

According to current practice, all graduates of the Bachelor's program in Computer Science are admitted to the Master's program in Computer Science. The same applies to all graduates of bachelor's programs in Computer Science from German universities. The subject requirements for the Master's program in Computer Science can be found here. Graduates of the following TUHH Bachelor's programs can continue their studies consecutively: Notes for TUHH students The program is taught in English, so applicants must provide proof of English language skills upon enrollment.
