1/15/2026The three-semester master's program "Sustainable Business & Entrepreneurship" (SBE) at Hochschule Bremen is designed as a consecutive program following a bachelor's or diplom degree that mainly focuses on business or management studies. It thus builds on the basic business management content taught in the bachelor's or Diplom degree program as well as the essential functions of business administration (finance, accounting, HR, etc.), and deepens this knowledge by focusing on topics and competencies that are important to make companies and management more sustainable. In addition, students are taught the skills and knowledge needed for independent entrepreneurial activity. For example, in the "Innovation & Entrepreneurship Lab" (I&E Lab), students acquire the skills required to develop innovative business models and start a company. The course encompasses cooperation with the start-up lab at Hochschule Bremen (the so-called FreiRAUM@HSB) and other institutions in Bremen's vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem. In addition to a strong orientation to practice, students also have the opportunity to discuss and critically reflect upon current research outcomes and methods. They also learn about the necessary conditions for sustainable management and entrepreneurial action: from business ethics and relevant legislation to interdisciplinary aspects of sustainability. There is also the possibility for discussion and exchange with students, lecturers, and practitioners in other countries.*Most courses are taught in German and some in English. Good knowledge of both languages is therefore absolutely essential.
