7/15/2026In an increasingly complex and dynamic world, public administration is required to continuously develop and adapt to new challenges. The process of transforming administrations into modern service providers for citizens and companies is significantly influenced by demographic, economic and socio-cultural changes. It is therefore of crucial importance for the future of public institutions to increase their efficiency through the qualification of employees and the use of digital technologies. The postgraduate Master's degree course in Public Administration (MPA) is primarily aimed at specialists who are already working in public administration or aspire to a career in this field. For this group of people, the university's continuing education course offers the opportunity to gain qualifications while working in order to meet the changes in the professional environment, to actively help shape them or to use them as further training for promotion. Within four semesters, students learn to deal comprehensively with the central aspects of public administration and expand their skills in this important area. The practical and interdisciplinary interlinking enables students to acquire sound knowledge of administrative science and related disciplines, effectively implement legal frameworks and develop innovative solutions for current challenges. In the first semesters, the focus of the part-time Public Administration (MPA) degree course is on the legal foundations and structural framework conditions of public administration. Students gain valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities of public administration through case studies, project work and exchanges with experienced practitioners. Current topics such as digitalization, sustainability and citizen participation are incorporated throughout the course. In addition, students' personal and social skills are promoted in order to optimally prepare them for management tasks in public administration. At the end of the course, graduates will be able to analyze complex administrative processes, make strategic decisions and develop innovative approaches to improve public services.
