7/15/2025The interdisciplinary MA program InterAmerican Studies / Estudios InterAmericanos deals with social, cultural, historical, and political developments in the Americas both on a national and transnational level. Updated with current academic research, our program focuses on transnational and intercultural issues, as well as on the dynamics of globalization and world politics. We provide a space for interdisciplinary dialogue between Literary, Cultural and Media Studies, Linguistics, Sociology, Political Science, and Transnational History. Students develop in-depth knowledge of the cultures, societies, and histories of the Americas and the ability to navigate transnational contexts and transcultural interrelationships. The program offers an annual media study project and a double degree option with the Universidad de Guadalajara (Mexico). (https://ekvv.uni-bielefeld.de/sinfo/publ/master-as/ias?lang=EN)
